Each cell takes two quarter arcs, one way or the other, and the choice is made once in a quadrant and mirrored out — so the page reads symmetrically however the seed falls. Every arc ends at the midpoint of a cell edge, which the neighbouring cell's arc ends at too, so no arc is ever alone: chained end to end the tiling collapses into a few dozen meanders that each wander most of the sheet, and the pen lifts only where one closes on itself. A grid of a thousand arcs, drawn as a handful of lines.
