Two families of evenly spaced rings, set apart along an angle set on the page; the moiré is the lens where they overlap and nothing draws it — it is what the eye makes of the crossings. Each family is one Archimedean spiral rather than a stack of circles, so the whole page is two pen-downs: at this pitch a spiral and a stack differ by less than the pen is wide, and the stack costs one lift per ring. Each disc is the largest that stays inside the margin from where its own centre sits, so neither is clipped and neither run is broken. Each spiral is its own pass, so the two families are two layers rather than two subpaths of one. The seed only turns the spirals' shared starting angle, since spacing and lean are now sliders.
